Races

The races available for selection are as follows:

All Core races + Asherati & Bhuka.

Karnas is a fairly big province, and Karn itself is a bustling major city. Whilst humans are the main species present, the others listed have integrated into the province as well, immigrating from other lands to take advantage of the River Iona.

Check the Sandstorm book for the changes to each of the races listed above. You may apply for another race, please tell me what book it is from and why you think it fits into Soulrya.

Classes

All Pathfinder races are allowed, and UA variants will be judged on a case by case basis and updated to Pathfinder if accepted.

Check the Sandstorm book for the changes to these classes, and adhere to them please (after I do a little bit of rewriting to make them fit Pathfinder)

Prestige Classes:

All Sandstorm prestige classes are allowed (and encouraged!), with the following changes/exceptions.

Scion of Tem-Et-Nu is renamed Scion of Jan-Sai and has the following changes:

• All instances of the name Tem-Et-Nu are changed to Jan-Sai • You must be a Cleric or Druid devoted to the god Jan-Sai

The Sandshaper prestige class is banned. This is for story reasons, and will be explained later on. Suffice to say, it’s bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, BAD to be a sandshaper, forbidden knowledge and all that jazz.

PrCs will probably get a little bit of a power boost as well, to bring them in line with the powerlevel of Pathfinder PrCs

Notes

You are to create characters that fit into Soulrya. You could be a devout cleric of Soo-Ran, or an ex-soldier of the Karnas Guard, a thief off the streets, or a wizard training at the university in Karn. Feel free to make use of any of the good factions (i.e. not Cult of Kael-Ra or Bhuka Raiders), or make up your own smaller faction/hometown. The province of Karnas is fairly large and prosperous, thanks to the river Iona so you have a lot of room to work with (we won’t be seeing all of Karnas, its just far too big…and there are far more interesting places to see anyway ;)). An immigrant from another province is another possible background you could explore, go nuts!

Be inventive, make a character that fits into Soulrya’s setting, but also make a character that is yours! You’re going to be helping me tell a story, and I want you to be completely comfortable with your character. Someone you can slip into seamlessly and act like you’ve lived in this wasteland your entire life. Applicants are also strongly urged to make maximum use of the Sandstorm campaign book. We will be using Heat rules and the like, so building a character who can survive these is a good idea. Remember you’ve grown up on this plane, so you should know how to deal with the day to day heat (or a bit more if you’re an ex Wind Trader or Asherati Nomad who spends far more time in the more open, dangerous parts of the world).
